Candidate Statement:

My name is Dr. Tarmen Siaway and I am an enthusiastic goal-driven leader that will always keep the members of ACA in the forefront of every decision I make. Our profession is currently under attack regarding funding for students, shortage of clinicians, and legislative laws that are moving the profession backward. If elected to the ACA Board of Directors I will ensure that all counseling disciplines have a voice within the profession. I will be an advocate for clinician equity regarding third-party payers and other issues concerning professional practice. I will also advocate for diversity in leadership positions. I will bring innovative ideas and encourage my colleagues to do the same. I will push for more financial resources to be provided for our counselors-in-training.  Finally, I will support current and future social justice initiatives that the ACA identifies. It will be my goal to speak for the disenfranchised communities we serve, identify inequality, and promote fairness for all. I believe being a leader is a privilege and not a right therefore, I will hold this position with dignity and respect.
