Friends with arms around each other

Hello 2026!

This will be an exciting year for ACA and the counseling profession as we welcome a new CEO, explore what lies ahead for the profession, discover more ways that we can foster deeper connections among our members and expand our reach, and examine how we can develop and disseminate the highest quality educational and professional development content and experiences.

Here’s what you can expect in the coming months:

  • New ACA Code of Ethics – The Ethics Committee has been hard at work on the new ACA Code of Ethics, and we’re excited to release an updated code in 2026.
  • More Compact States Launching — After officially launching the Compact in September 2025 with Arizona and Minnesota granting privileges, we expect more states to begin granting privileges as they actively work to complete the steps needed to begin issuing and receiving privileges. For the latest information, visit counselingcompact.org.
  • 75th Anniversary Preparations — In 2027, we will celebrate a milestone of 75 years! The 75th Anniversary Taskforce is partnering with staff to develop content and events that honor our history and welcome our future.
  • A New Learning Experience — Effective January 2026, we will launch a new platform for professional development. The new ACA Learning Portal will offer an enhanced user experience, making it easier for you to track your CEs, review your learning history, attend courses and webinars and more.

Upcoming Book Releases New!

Several new books are slated for release in the months ahead. Look out for these titles online or grab a copy on-site in the ACA store at the 2026 Annual Conference & Expo, April 9-11 in Columbus, Ohio.
