Black, Indigenous and people of color (BIPOC) individuals continue to face discrimination, oppression, and inequality linked to America's history, resulting in both collective and individual trauma. When educated with cultural knowledge and context, mental health professionals can offer effective care and contribute to addressing the systemic barriers hindering BIPOC access to mental health services.
