Legislative and Public Policy
Our Legislative and Public Policy committee is responsible for providing the board with up-to-date information on legislative, policy, and advocacy issues that impact the counseling profession in the state of New York, as well as communicating advocacy issues supported by ACA.
Our Graduate Student committee is committed to involving masters and doctoral students from across the state in ACA of New York events and activities, while also providing leadership opportunities for students. This committee receives feedback from graduate students and helps to ensure their voice is heard among our ACA of New York events and activities. Graduate students can get connected to other ACA of New York Graduate Students by joining our "Street Team."
Our regional chairs plan events throughout New York state to meet the needs of our members. Currently we have four regions: Upstate, Downstate, Central and Western although ACA of New York members are welcome to attend events in any region.
Our Communications committee is busy doing everything from creating our newsletter to updating our social media sites to responding to emails from members. They also take on special projects such as the Member Survey and others throughout the year.
