Training of School Counselors
Kelly A. Kozlowski and Susan Huss
School counselors have unique, specialized training needs that differ from those of clinical mental health counselors. The American School Counselor Association (ASCA) states school counselors should possess proficient skills in program development, program leadership, collaborative practices, as well as appropriate referral procedures.
