New faculty members often face multiple tasks and challenges that raise ethical concerns. Dr. Jennifer Nivin Williamson and Dr. Daniel Williamson discuss “Unique Ethical Challenges Facing New Faculty” and how the ACA 2014 Code of Ethics guides the work of faculty.
Dr. Jennifer Nivin Williamson is an Associate Professor at Lindsey Wilson College in the School of Professional Counseling and in the Counselor Education and Supervision Doctoral Program. She is the co-founder of the Institute for Advanced Study. She earned a Ph.D from Baylor University, holds licensure as a Professional Clinical Counselor, and is a Nationally Certified Counselor. She currently serves as Member-At-Large for IAMFC, as Chair of the ACES International Initiative, and as a member of the ACA Ethics Committee.
Dr. Daniel Williamson is an Associate Professor at Lindsey Wilson College Counselor Education and Supervision Doctoral Program. He is credentialed as a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor, Nationally Certified Counselor, and a Human Services Board Certified Practitioner. During his time at LWC, he designed the curriculum for the master-level ethics and professional issues course, and he has mentored multiple new faculty members. Dr. Williamson currently serves on the editorial board for the ACA Journal Measurement and Evaluation in Counseling and Development, and is currently Co-editor of the Kentucky Counseling Association Journal.
