Secondary School Counseling
This course is designed to explore the roles and functions of a secondary school counselor. Content areas include the ASCA Model (American School Counselors Association), foundations of school counseling, contextual dimensions of school counseling, knowledge and skills for the practice of school counseling, guidance, and consultation. The course also focuses on the major concerns of adolescents and counseling interventions that may be useful. This is a three credit hour course and uses a lecture/discussion format.
