The ACA Syllabus Clearinghouse is a joint project of ACA and The Association for Counselor Education and Supervision (ACES). We will maintain syllabi on many topics from may different learning institutions. Our database will be updated continually with new and exciting courses and will provide a valuable resource to all counselors. Medical and Psychosocial Aspects of Disability

This course is a survey of the medical, psychological, and social aspects of disability. It studies the social psychological and sociological explanation of disability, attitudes and attitude change toward persons with disabilities, the perspectives of families and professionals, and issues of sexuality. Its primary objective is to broaden students' perspectives on disability and disability issues.
