The ACA Syllabus Clearinghouse is a joint project of ACA and The Association for Counselor Education and Supervision (ACES). We will maintain syllabi on many topics from may different learning institutions. Our database will be updated continually with new and exciting courses and will provide a valuable resource to all counselors. Counseling Techniques

This course focuses on beginning techniques and an introduction to the profession of counseling. The role of the counselor will be covered as will the history and trends of counseling. The role of the counselor as consultant and advocate will also be explored. Also ethical and legal issues will be addressed. The Person-Centered approach to counseling is presented as a foundation for all counseling. TA and REBT, Impact Therapy, and creative counseling will be introduced. Crisis counseling will be addressed.
