Substance Abuse and Dual Diagnosis

Acquaints students with concepts of chemical dependence and co-occurring disorders as a disease that impacts the entire family system and functioning, the community, as well as the individual. The course will explore the developmental model of addiction, theories and etiology of addictions and addictive behaviors including strategies for prevention, intervention, and treatment.
