The Dawning Of A New Story: Rebuilding After Loss
The intention of this intervention is to explore life both pre– and post–loss and to begin to have a
conversation about life after loss. Meaning making, adaptation, and rewriting stories are also goals of this intervention. Used in a grief group setting, this has the potential to allow individual grievers to encourage each other and glean strength from the stories of others. Group members are given an environment where loss adaptation can be explored and where they know that they are not alone. Stories can be rewritten and rebuilt using re-imagined images of loss.
