2024-2025 President-Elect Candidates

2023-2024 Election (runs Dec 1, 2023–Jan 31, 2024)

The 2023-2024 ACA election will run from December 1, 2023, to January 31, 2024. The ballot will include candidates for the 2024-2025 ACA President-Elect, as well as open ACA Divisions and Regions governance positions.

Megan Pickens, PhD, LPC-S

Michele Kerulis, EdD, LPC-IL, LMHC-FL, CMPC

Michele Kerulis is an associate professor, ethics expert, media/marketing liaison and director of community engagement at The Family Institute of Northwestern University. Kerulis’ career has spanned 23 years in counseling serving in different settings, in addition to running a small private practice since 2005. 

Elsa Soto Leggett, PhD, LPC-S, RPT-S™

Elsa Soto Leggett is an associate professor and practicum/internship coordinator at Truman State University and the sole proprietor of Shelter Counseling and Supervision. Leggett is a Mexican-American counselor whose unique perspective of service has been influenced by the voices of her past.

Jane Rheineck, PhD, LPC, ACS, NCC

Jane Rheineck is a professor at Mount Mary University. As a member of ACA for nearly 25 years, Rheineck would like to lead ACA toward a stronger, more efficient and more collaborative position within the counseling field.

Michael Walsh, PhD, LPC, CRC, CPRP

Michael Walsh is a clinical associate professor at the University of South Carolina School of Medicine. Beginning with his involvement with ACA as a graduate student, Walsh has seen what can happen when people work together and hopes to bring his passion for collaboration and togetherness into ACA.
