Robert Rencken Emerging Professional Leader Award
The Robert Rencken Emerging Professional Leader Award is presented to a former ACA state branch or state division president, who has demonstrated the potential to become a dedicated leader of the counseling profession in future years.
Presented to Angie Wilson
Angie Wilson, PhD, is an assistant professor at the University of North Texas (UNT) and a past president of the Texas Association for Counselor Education and Supervision (TACES). Dr. Wilson received the Texas governor’s award for her volunteer clinical work with incarcerated sexual offenders within the Texas Department of Criminal Justice. She is the current committee chair for the sex offender counseling and rehabilitation committee of the International Association of Addictions and Offender Counselors (IAAOC) and serves on the Ethics Appeal Panel for the American Counseling Association. Dr. Wilson’s research agenda addresses offender and addictions counseling issues and underserved populations in counseling and counselor education. Her passion for counseling and teaching was recognized by the African American Student Leadership Team at Texas A&M University with the 2015 Professor of the Year Award.
