Gilbert and Kathleen Wrenn Award
The Gilbert and Kathleen Wrenn Award for a Humanitarian and Caring Person honors an ACA member who gives to others without fanfare or expectation of reward other than the personal satisfaction of seeing other people made happier ($1,000 honorarium).
Presented to Victoria E. Kress
Victoria E. Kress, PhD, LPCC-S (OH), NCC, CCMHC, is the director of the clinical mental health and addictions counseling programs at Youngstown State University and director of advocacy for the National Board of Certified Counselors. Dr. Kress has over 20 years of counseling experience in various clinical settings. She was appointed by the governor to the Ohio Counselor, Social Worker, and Marriage and Family Therapist Board and served as the chair of the Counselor Professional Standards Committee. She has been the recipient of over 30 counseling awards, most of which recognized her leadership, advocacy, and mentorship initiatives. She is a past president of Chi Sigma Iota International and the Ohio Counseling Association, and she is the American Counseling Association Midwest Region chair. Dr. Kress has published over 120 peer-reviewed journal articles and book chapters, and has coauthored several books on clinical counseling of adults and children.
