Presented to the New Horizons Family Counseling Center
The New Horizons Family Counseling Center (NHFCC) is a partnership project between the College of William & Mary Counseling Program and seven local school divisions in the Virginia Peninsula region. Its mission is to provide free, year-round family counseling services that enhance school and family relationships and student success. Counseling services are provided by graduate students under the supervision of faculty codirectors. The NHFCC offers specialized training opportunities designed to help students develop skills and explore methods for developing family-centered inter-professional collaboration in school and community settings. Research projects are central to the mission of the center and are designed to enhance the services provided to families while improving researchers’ understanding of how families and children are changing as a result of their counseling experiences.
