Presented to Casey A. Barrio Minton
Casey A. Barrio Minton, PhD, NCC, is an associate professor of counselor education at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. Her primary interests are in professionalization and clinical mental health issues. Dr. Barrio Minton is founding editor for the Journal of Counselor Leadership and Advocacy and a longstanding member of the editorial board for Counselor Education and Supervision. She has authored 29 peer-reviewed journal articles, 16 book chapters, and four books, including The Professional Counselor, Professional Counseling Excellence through Leadership and Advocacy, and Evaluating Student Learning Outcomes in Counselor Education. A past president of Chi Sigma Iota (CSI) International and the Association for Assessment and Research in Counseling, Dr. Barrio Minton currently serves as president-elect for the Southern Association for Counselor Education and Supervision (SACES). A former emerging leader and CSI Leadership Fellow, Dr. Barrio Minton has received numerous recognitions for her scholarship and service, including the UNC Greensboro Distinguished Alumni Award, two ACES Outstanding Publication awards, the ACES Outstanding Counselor Education and Supervision Article Award, two American Counseling Association Best Practice Research awards, and two CSI Outstanding Research awards.
