Congressman David Loebsack (IA-02) has reintroduced a bill that will increase the quantity and quality of school counseling programs in order to adequately address all students' barriers to academic success. Highlights of this bill include measures to:

• Hire and retain Specialized Instructional Support Personnel, which includes school counselors
• Increase professional development for school counselors
•  Improve coordination between local, state, and federal programs for school counselors
