A group of 31 organizations representing the counseling profession worked together from 2005-2013 to promote the needs of professional counselors. Sponsored by ACA and American Association of State Counseling Boards (AASCB), 20/20: A Vision for the Future of Counseling focused on advancing the profession and engaging in strategic planning.

Accomplishments to date include the Principles for Unifying and Strengthening the Profession and the Consensus Definition for Counseling
