This poster describes a bibliotherapy and creative arts group curriculum for resistant youth. The curriculum presented in this session emphasizes the connection between aggression, empathy, and resiliency. In addition, it reframes the issue of bullying in schools in a manner to promote an anti-bullying culture. Through the use of the book Diary of a Wimpy Kid and creative activities, this curriculum seeks to engage resistant youth through its creative and interactive nature. Session outlines will be provided, as well as tips for running this group and a list of creative activities that counselors can try with their own students/clients.

Clinical Implications for Working with Adolescents on the Autism Spectrum: The Forgotten Age

This poster will explore the unique needs of adolescents on the autism spectrum transitioning into middle school. We will provide case studies to illustrate typical problems, and a variety of interventions will be discussed including art therapy, sand-tray, Lego-based play therapy, music and drama therapy, and social skills training. Leave with specific strategies and interventions to use when you get back home.
