Mindfulness Moments: Managing Micro-Aggressions with Innovation Interventions

This roundtable will challenge professional counselors to consider the use of mindfulness as a technique in addressing microaggressions in their work with clients. Specific strategies will be explored to assist counselors with identifying microaggressions and the negative impact they could potentially have on the therapeutic process. Lastly, interventions will be discussed to combat the negative effects of microaggressions in order to enhance the quality of therapeutic outcomes.

Finding Our Voice: Creative Collaborations To Advocate for Mental Wellness on Campus

Mental wellness is important to the individual and to communities such as college campuses. This roundtable will discuss a creative interdisciplinary program developed and implemented with counseling, health care, and psychology graduate and undergraduate university students that promotes mental wellness. Discussion will include the strategies, challenges, and successes of implementing specific mental health wellness projects.
