Practicing counselors are aware of the threat of malpractice and must be vigilant to the potential for such cases in their own practices. This roundtable takes the ethical concept “to do no harm” and links it to ways to avoid malpractice lawsuits.

Recent increases in funding for mental health and youth mental health first aid (MHFA) in various communities across the country have some counselors wondering what this initiative is all about and where they fit in. This roundtable will assist private practice and agency counselors in understanding the basics of MHFA as well as ways to consider connecting with local MHFA trainers to provide counseling services to diverse populations.
