Ethical Dilemmas and Decision-Making Models: Stories from the Field
30-Minute Roundtable Session
Jessica Burkholder, David Burkholder
The most recent ACA Code of Ethics states that counselors need to use ethical decision-making models when facing ethical dilemmas. Counselors were interviewed and asked to describe ethical dilemmas they had faced and steps taken to resolve those dilemmas. This study has implications for how counselor educators teach ethics and will illuminate practices that are likely to encourage clinicians to effectively adopt and use ethical decision-making models.
