NORTH CAROLINA - EAST CAROLINA UNIVERSITY - Assistant/Associate Professor

Assistant/Associate Professor. Tenure-track, nine-month, full-time faculty position in the Department of Higher, Adult, and Counselor Education available August 18, 2014. Rank and salary: Commensurate with qualifications.

Responsibilities include teaching graduate courses in Counselor Education; engaging in an active research and publication agenda including grant writing; supervising practicum and/or internship experiences; and participating in service to the university, community, and profession.  

Minimum qualifications include: (1) Ph.D. or Ed.D. degree from an appropriately accredited institution earned by July 15, 2014 in Counselor Education; (2) focus in Professional School Counseling, with eligibility for North Carolina school counseling licensure and LPC; (3) demonstrated record of (or potential for) scholarly research and publication.

Candidates should have the ability to teach a variety of courses across the curriculum using different course delivery methods, including online teaching, distance education and campus-based face-to-face courses. Candidates should also demonstrate evidence of professional commitment to cultural competence and participation in state, regional, national and/or international counseling organizations. Special consideration will be given to applicants with experience developing university-school partnerships and collaborative partnerships with other postsecondary institutions and community partners and to applicants with experience coordinating and supervising clinical experiences including practicum and internships; preference given to applicants graduating from a CACREP accredited program.

Finalists will be required to present the results of a research study as well as describe plans for a future research study. In addition, they will have the opportunity to work with the Associate Dean for Funded Research on submitting a proposal for research start-up funds available at East Carolina University. Screening begins Sept. 30, 2013 and continues until the position is filled.
