Assistant or Associate Professor - Mental Health Counseling, Job ID: 6849
The Department of Educational Foundations and Counseling Programs in Hunter College's School of Education seeks candidates for a tenure track position in Mental Health Counseling effective late August 2013. All candidates must have a commitment to work in multicultural and urban settings. The candidate must demonstrate scholarly involvement as evidenced by publication, research and grants within the specialty in the profession of counseling. Salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications. Duties include: 1) teaching graduate courses in counselor education programs; 2) engaging in research, scholarly writing and grant work; and 3) serving on program, department, school, college and university committees, where appropriate.
Earned Ph.D. or Ed. D. in counseling psychology or counselor education required. Master's and Doctorate in Community/Agency Mental Health Counseling preferred. Must have a LMHC or be LMHC eligible in New York State. Teaching experience is required. Experience working in diverse urban multicultural mental health settings is preferred. Research and grant activity and scholarly publications are necessary. Candidates with a sustained record of peer reviewed publications, grant history, and professional affiliation with the field of Mental Health Counseling will be considered for the rank of Associate Professor.
