Anticipated Position: Assistant Professor, Counselor Education, Department of Psychology

Pace University is seeking applicants for an anticipated tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor in the Psychology Department in Pleasantville, New York to begin fall 2013. The department includes one of the largest majors in the Dyson College of Arts and Sciences, with very high quality graduate degree programs, including a 60-credit master’s program in mental health counseling and a Ph.D. program in mental health counseling.

The successful candidate will teach graduate-level courses in the counseling program, advise students, and conduct research in counseling psychology, counseling processes, and counselor training . A demonstrated commitment to student-centered learning and excellence in teaching is required as well as evidence of applied counseling psychology research.

The successful candidate must have completed a doctorate in counselor education. Preference will be given to candidates who are licensed as LMHC or LPC or are eligible for such in New York State. Candidates should be committed to graduate education and be prepared and able to offer classroom instruction and appropriate mentorship to each of the department’s graduate constituencies. They should be able to integrate their work into the research, teaching, and service efforts of the psychology faculty. The successful candidate should have been involved in a program of research and be prepared to develop, initiate, and successfully implement a program of research and scholarship in collaborative efforts with senior researchers in the department.
