NORTH CAROLINA-IAFT Program Supervisor

This position will be working with our Winston-Salem partners, Youth Opportunities. The IAFT Program Supervisor is responsible for the day to day operation of the assigned organizational units(s), leading to delivery of high quality behavioral healthcare services to all clients. The Program Supervisor is responsible for the selection and supervision of all staff assigned to the unit. The Program Supervisor ensures that the agency's mission, vision, values are clearly communicated to the staff.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Oversees recruitment and training of and support services to treatment foster parents.
  • Conducts evaluations of foster parents.
  • Conducts mental health evaluations on program participants.
  • Matches program youth with foster parents.
  • Coordinates contacts with schools, probation departments, mental health agencies, and other relevant community entities.
  • Oversees each placement, finalizes individual treatment plans for program youth upon discussion with program staff and foster parents, monitors progress on each case, and amends treatment plans as needed.
  • Oversees individual and family therapy.
  • Leads weekly clinical team meetings and weekly foster parent meetings.
  • Provides/arranges for 24 hour on-call availability for participating parents and program youth.
  • Supervises all program staff.
  • Compiles program evaluation data.
  • Ensures adherence to all applicable county, state, and other regulations.
  • Participates in community liaison activities.
  • Provides/oversees proper record keeping and documentation for all clinical and supervisory activities.
  • Performs other related duties as needed.


Directly supervises all assigned staff. Supervision is carried out in accordance with the agency's policies, procedures and applicable regulations and laws. Responsibilities also include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.


Master's degree in psychology or related field and 1 year of post graduate mental health experience. QMHP status required.

Experience with a behavioral approach to treating troubled youth. Familiarity with/understanding of and enthusiasm for the MTFC model. Experience assessing and treating families, children, and adolescents.

Experience managing the administrative components of treatment (case documentation, coordination with other community agencies, etc.). Demonstrated ability to function in a team setting. Supervisory experience.

Must meet any required state certification or licensing criteria.
