SeaView Community Services is seeking a Substance Abuse Counselor to apply counseling knowledge, skills, values and attitudes to provide welcoming, accessible, integrated, continuous and comprehensive care for people with substance use and co-occurring disorders in an outpatient setting. Position is responsible for conducting assessments, treatment planning, individual and group counseling, case management, referral services, crisis intervention, and discharge planning. Preparation of accurate, timely, concise client records that are consistent with regulations, standards and laws regarding confidentiality is required. Must be able to participate in agency crisis line rotation.

Bachelors degree in a human services/behavioral health sciences field with two years experience preferred AND Alaska Chemical Dependency Certification, CDC I or CDC II preferred. OR 4 years experience in a human services/behavioral health sciences field with 1) national certification in a chemical dependency program. Must obtain Alaska CDC certification within one year of hire OR 2) Alaska Chemical Dependency Certification, CDCI or CDC II preferred. Criminal background check and pre-employment drug/alcohol screening required.
