Cypress College invites applications for the following position:
Part-Time Counselor (CalWORKs)
The preferred qualifications include:
1. Demonstrated knowledge of the CalWORKs program.
2. Ability to perform outreach and recruitment presentations and activities.
3. Experience collaborating with Social Services Agencies or policies and
4. Counseling experience with economically disadvantaged or academically unprepared student populations (experience with EOPS/CARE programs preferred).
-Assignment is for 12 hours per week during the period of January 5-June 12,
-Training period will be provided and after training, assignment will be Mon,
Tue, Wed 8am-noon.
Master's in counseling, rehabilitation counseling, clinical psychology,
counseling psychology, guidance counseling, educational counseling, social work,
or career development, marriage, family and child counseling; OR
Possess a valid California teaching credential authorizing service in a
community college in the appropriate subject matter area; OR The equivalent.
NOTE: A bachelor's in one of the above degrees and a license as a Marriage &
Family Therapist (MFT) is an alternative qualification for this discipline.
