JOB DESCRIPTION The Department of Mental Health, Substance Abuse and Developmental Services (MHSADS) is currently seeking qualified applicants for a part-time 30 hour a week Child Psychiatrist to serve as the Medical Director for Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services. This position will provide direct service and administrative oversight to the Clinical and Medical Care Services Branch with the Mental Health and Substance Abuse Division. Responsibilities will include performing psychiatric evaluation of MHSA clients; medication services; serve as Independent Evaluator for civil commitment hearings; service and medication documentation in Electronic Health Records (EHR) system; supervision of and consultation with contract Psychiatrists; budget and management oversight for Medical and Clinical Care Services Branch; program development and implementation; and representation of the Department in local, regional, and state initiatives. The Medical Director will be primarily located in the Leesburg Mental Health Center, but will also schedule client hours in the Eastern Loudoun Mental Health Center. The schedule will include day and limited evening hours until 8:00 pm.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Any combination of education and experience equivalent to a Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) in Psychiatry with a specialty in child psychiatry; with two (2) years of experience or completion of residency in a human services clinical environment. Board Certification as a Child Psychiatrist is required.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
Forensic assessment and functional program management preferred; bilingual (Spanish) preferred.
