Under the general direction of the Behavioral Health Division Manager and Behavior Health Division Supervisor, provides alcohol and drug abuse assessment (including assessment for operating while intoxicated); individual, family and group therapy; and treatment plan recommendations to clients referred to the Division. Performs related duties as required.
Job Duties: Examples of duties include, but are not limited to: 1) Provides assessment services and treatment plan recommendations to clients and families referred to the division to ensure comprehensive treatment planning.
Provides individual family and group counseling to those with substance abuse disorders and to those impacted by those disorders; 2) Completes state mandated assessments for those convicted of operating while intoxicated. Works with agency staff to file and maintain up to date driver safety plans, for individuals through the State Department of Transportation; 3) May specialize in a specific area of assessment, such as primary outpatient program, intoxicated driver program, adult or child co-dependency service; 4) Confers with other agencies or institutions serving clients to monitor and coordinate assigned cases; 5) Provides crisis intervention, assessment and crisis management services for mentally ill clients and 6) Consults with Clinical Director and psychologist regarding diagnosis, case plans and treatment recommendations.
Special Notes: Human Services Crisis Workers must be available within a sixty minute response time to Chilton during their on-call duty. If a worker normally resides outside of a sixty minute response time to Chilton, the worker must make arrangements to comply with this policy during the rotation schedule. Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, or a related human services field, preferably with coursework relating to substance abuse issues. Five (5) years experience in Human Services and two (2) to three (3) years of clinical experience in services to AODA clients; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations that may be needed are: Access to reliable transportation; Clinical Substance Abuse Counselor certification (CSAC) and State of Wisconsin Intoxicated Driver Program Assessor Certification. Other skills and abilities include: Language skills, mathematical skills, reasoning ability, computer skills, ability to exercise judgment and discretion, as well as physical and environmental demands.
