Job Summary of Counseling Supervisor:

Under direction of the Clinical Director, the Counseling Supervisor oversees the day-to-day operations of the clinical counseling services.

The Counseling Supervisor is responsible for managing and developing CADCA & CADC I Certified Counselors, as well as, collaborating with multidisciplinary team. The primary role will be to oversee the clinical process of clients while in the programming stages of treatment.

Job Responsibilities of Counseling Supervisor:
•Assure quality of care by developing and interpreting company philosophies and standards of care; enforce adherence to all regulatory and state agencies; measure health outcomes against standards; make or recommend adjustments as necessary.
•Ensure HIPAA compliance by maintaining client confidentiality and protecting confidential information (PHI).
•Develops and maintains audit tool to hold staff accountable for established standards.
•Assist with staff recruitment; ensure an orientation plan for new staff members, and provide timely feedback
•Evaluate counseling staff skill level and schedule in services/training as needed.
•Schedule and assign counselors to admitting clients as well as coordinate daily group schedule.
•Maintain performance standards of counseling staff by coaching, counseling, disciplinary actions, and completing annual performance evaluations.
•In support of a healthy and successful experience, provide a compassionate environment to support clients and their families.
•Maintain a cooperative relationship among health care teams by communicating information; responding to requests; building rapport; and participating in team problem-solving methods.
•Act as liaison between the clinical and administrative functions to provide the highest quality care for each client on their assigned case load. Assists administration in providing quality programming in line with program mission and goals.
•Work with the Clinical Director to assure appropriate utilization of the program and its resources in the best interest of each client.
•Communicates and gains feedback from clients to assure that the clients are benefiting from treatment.
•Assist counselors with setting up treatment plans for each client, in conjunction with the therapists.
•Prepare clinical data for presentation to third party payors in conjunction with the Clinical Director
•Coordinate care for each client and their family and significant others as needed.
•Conduct process and educational groups for programming clients & detox clients when necessary
•Assists with community outreach projects, educational opportunities.
•Complete necessary CEUs required to maintain clinical skill and knowledge.

Job Requirements

Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities of Counseling Supervisor:
•Knowledge of health care detoxification process, addiction, co-occurring disorders, DSM Criteria, including terminology
•Ability to be compassionate and show empathy
•Organizational skills and attention to detail
•Ability to prioritize duties and delegate responsibilities
•Practical knowledge of responding to emergency situations
•Experience with MS Office, including Excel, Word, and Outlook
•Experience with scheduling tools

Minimum Qualification of Counseling Supervisor:
•Two years minimum of supervision experience in the field of Chemical Dependency Counseling
•Five years experience in the field of Chemical Dependency Counseling.
•Certification as a CADC II, Chemical Dependency Counselor, prefer LADC.
•Supervisory abilities for case review and documentation to include screening, intake, orientation, assessment, treatment planning, counseling, case management, crisis intervention, client education, referral, reports, and consultation with other professionals.
•Demonstrated skill and ability in program enhancement.
