EAP Counselor
(San Diego Work From Home – Mon. – Fri. daytime schedule!) – 509421
Position Description
Due to our continuing business growth, OptumHealth Behavioral Solutions has an immediate need for an Employee Assistance Program Counselor in San Diego, CA. In this full-time telecommuting role, the EAP Specialist will be responsible for taking inbound calls to provide telephonic assessment and solution focused consultation to clients calling regarding their behavioral health benefits and work/life balance needs. In addition to assessment and triage, the successful candidate will engage in short-term problem resolution, authorization and referrals for routine and crisis callers.
Monday – Friday business hours/no weekends!
Qualified candidates must be local to San Diego and available for training and staff meetings at our Mission Valley office!
Primary Responsibilities:
•Answer inbound calls for EAP and Behavioral Health
•Assessment and triage, short-term problem resolution, authorization and referrals for routine and crisis callers
•Provide solution focused consultation to assist member with issue resolution
•Determine member eligibility and benefit coverage and triage as appropriate
•Update and enter clinical notes in care management database
Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS:
•Master’s degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling or Marriage and Family Counseling
•A minimum of 3 years of EAP experience or 5 years of behavioral health/social work experience (post-Master’s)
•Demonstrated ability to use a PC and navigate multiple screens in a Windows environment
DESIRED ASSETS:
•California Behavioral Health License (LCSW, MFT, PhD/PsyD)
•Call center experience
•Managed care experience
