About This Position
The purpose of this position is to provide a variety of mental health services that may include initial intake assessments, evaluations, therapy including individual, family and groups, crisis intervention, and linkages and referrals to appropriate services. This position uses only therapeutic procedures approved by the Program Manager, adherence to the W & I Codes, and professional and ethical behavior at all times. This position is within the Behavioral Health Department in one of the three county contracted children’s clinics.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
-Provides direct client treatment to children and adolescents using appropriate treatment modalities.

-Maintains overall clinical productivity in accordance with performance requirements as established the Behavioral Health Department, and demonstrates competency in client care.

-Provides direct mental health services to families and children under a contract with the Sacramento County Department of Health and Human Services.

-Provides extensive, accurate and legible documentation regarding services.

-Maintains all required documentation and records of the services provided in accordance with Dignity Health Behavioral Health Quality Assurance and Sacramento County Mental Health Quality Management standards.

-Consistently consults and confers with other providers involved in client care as appropriate.

-Evaluates patients need for medication intervention and refers to child psychiatrist as appropriate.

-Evaluates patients for danger to self, others, or grave disability per California W & I Code 5150.

-Files petition for 72-hour involuntary detention AS NEEDED.

-Reports child, elder and dependent adult abuse to appropriate agencies per California W & I Code and complies with Tarasoff reporting requirements AS NEEDED.

-Participates in staff meetings, in-services and on-going supervision, both individual and group.

-Participates in a committee that promotes quality of patient care as approved or assigned by Program Coordinator.

-Participates in county and internal Utilization Review of client files.

-A minimum of 65% of time should be spent in direct client services that can be billed to Medi-Cal due to the guidelines and regulations under the contract and Medi-Cal, the incumbent is required.

-Prevention counseling, psycho-social assessments, suicide assessment, Evaluating suicidal and homicidal risk and other high risk situations (i.e. psychotic process; drug/alcohol use/intoxication.

-Attends meetings as required including regular staff meetings and clinical case staffings.

-Provides services on-site and has the ability to provide services within residential placement or school setting.

-Complies with all Medi-Cal, County, and organizational requirements for documentation compliance and productivity.

REQUIREMENTS
-A minimum of two years post licensure experience.

-Prior supervisory experience is highly preferred.

-Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Masters degree in an appropriate behavioral science discipline.

-Bilingual in English and Spanish, preferred

-Maintain an appropriate balance between direct client contact and documentation time.

-Adhere to all client confidentiality requirements and standards.

-Manage significant electronic paperwork functions necessary to support insurance billing.

-Ability to manage the case load and schedule to maximize productivity.

-Ability to effectively resolve conflict and cope with crisis situations.

-Skills in building groups.

-Developing treatment/intervention plans with multi-discipline team.

-Monitoring for medication and treatment interventions, consultation, case management of children and adolescents, and linkage and referral services.

-State of California as a Clinical Social Worker, Marriage and Family Therapist, or Clinical Psychologist.

-Meet the requirements of the California Board of Behavioral Science for approved clinical supervision including the maintenance of coursework for supervision.

-A valid California Drivers License, valid automobile insurance, and reliable automobile transportation.
