President Erford Sends Letter to CACREP Regarding Standards Draft

by Don Kenneally | Feb 07, 2013
ACA President Bradley T. Erford has sent a letter on behalf of the association to the Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs providing feedback on the first draft of the 2016 CACREP accreditation standards.

ACA President Bradley T. Erford has sent a letter on behalf of the association to the Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs providing feedback on the first draft of the 2016 CACREP accreditation standards. ACA applauds the focus on clarification, simplification, and unification and endorses the proposed requirement to standardize all counseling programs, regardless of specialty, at 60 credits. ACA also proposes an end to the student affairs program area and to continue the requirement to maintain membership in ACA and its divisions.

The American Counseling Association would like to thank the members of the ACA CACREP Revision Task Force for their assistance: Simone Lambert (Chair), Retta Brown, Gary Goodnough, Julian McCullough, and MJ Raleigh.
