Who We Are and What We Do (PDF)

Medicare doesn’t cover counselors.  Should it? If you answered “yes,” make sure you tell your member of Congress. 

ACA is working to get Congress to pass legislation --- “The Seniors Mental Health Access Improvement Act of 2009” (H.R. 1693, S. 671) --- establishing Medicare coverage of counselors.  But Senators and Representatives won’t spend taxpayer money to cover counselors under Medicare unless their constituents ask them to.
