Multiple Positions

The Chicago School of Professional Psychology's Departments of Clinical Psychology and Marriage and Family Therapy in Los Angeles, Westwood, and Irvine, Southern California invites applications for five faculty positions to begin by Fall 2010.

Positions 1 and 2: Clinical Psy.D. Program. An earned PsyD/Ph.D. in Clinical or Counseling Psychology is required along with previous teaching experience; California psychology licensed or license eligible; an active research agenda or strong research potential, and previous supervisory experience. Graduates from APA approved doctoral programs preferred. Responsibilities include teaching various courses in our Clinical Psy.D. program including practicum; advising students; serving on dissertation committees and institutional committees; supervising students at the counseling center.

Position 3 and 4: MFT Program. A master's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy with an earned doctorate in psychology or a closely related field is required along with previous teaching experience, a California MFT or psychology license, and the potential for an active research agenda. Responsibilities include teaching various courses in our M.A. and Psy.D. MFT programs including practicum; advising students; serving on dissertation committees and other institutional committees, and supervising students in the clinic.

Position 5: Clinical Psychology and MFT Programs. An earned doctorate in clinical, counseling, or experimental psychology is required along with previous teaching experience. Responsibilities include teaching research, statistics, and dissertation courses primarily in the doctoral program; teaching clinical courses in one's area of expertise; serving on several dissertation committees, and serving on various research/assessment committees include IRB.
All positions teach primarily at the downtown Los Angeles campus, but faculty may be asked to teach and work from our Westwood and Irvine campuses as well. Positions will be filled at both full-time and half-time with the option of benefits. Rank and salary will be commensurate with experience.

As defined in the Upward Bound (UB) grant funded by the United States Department of Education (USDoE), the UB Counselor will recruit, assess, advise, counsel and address issues of a personal and professional nature for program participants who will not have had role models who would have gone to college and who are economically disadvantaged. The Counselor's role is to encourage and assist these at-risk students to participate in UB activities and events, achieve mastery on state assessments, graduate from high school, enroll in post-secondary education, and to earn a post-secondary education degree. The Counselor will plan, develop, implement, present, and evaluate programs and services provided for the social, cultural, and academic enrichment of the program participants in order that the program would remain in compliance with the program grant as awarded by the USDoE. This position will help set and advance goals of UB and advance concepts of student development. Director of Counseling Center

The Director of the Counseling Center at Univ. of Wisc. - Stevens Point oversees the Counseling Center, Testing Services, and the Employee Assistance Program. Responsibilities include:
(1) Impart direction for policy development, fiscal management, and assessment of Counseling Center functions
(2) Provide clinical services to university students, faculty, and staff
(3) Coordinate staff recruitment, hiring, training, professional development and the evaluation of counseling and support staff
(4) Promote the professional development of staff members regarding legal issues governing mental health and the delivery of counseling services
(5) Supervise the university's EAP and Testing Services
(6) Collaborate with the administration and other university offices/departments

Required Qualifications:

(1) Doctorate in clinical or counseling psychology (2) Licensed as a psychologist and eligible for Wisconsin licensure (3) Minimum of 3 years post-doctoral experience providing client care (i.e. psychotherapy/ counseling) in an outpatient setting (4) Strong clinical skills in counseling, assessment, and crisis intervention appropriate to the educational and personal needs of university students (5) Demonstrated leadership ability and strong interpersonal skills that facilitate effective interaction with the university community; Desired qualifications include: (1) 3 years experience in provision of direct services to student clients and evidence of progressively responsible administrative experience in a university counseling center and (2) Training and/or experience in the provision of supervision to doctoral level trainees in professional psychology
