Governing Council
The Governing Council is the national governing body of the American Counseling Association, providing long-range strategic leadership. Composed of nationally elected ACA officers, including the president, president-elect, and immediate past president, an appointed treasurer, and one representative from each division and region, the Governing Council meets at least twice a year. The association’s executive director and treasurer serve as ex-officio members. Terms of office for Governing Council representatives are limited to three years.
